These are the best choice if you want a small crocodilian. Specs are extremely hardy, dont stress out easily and are one of the only crocodilian species that can regrow body parts. They have a similar average adult size to dwarf caiman (females 4-5ft, males 5-6ft) with a more confident and active demeanor.
Yes i know google will tell you they can reach 8ft. One did and most males will exceed 7ft… in about 70 years…if we are still around to see it happen.
Specs like all crocodilians do best when raised in pairs or groups, their social skills are complex also babies will key off of eachothers feeding response and confidence. Its not completely necessary but there are alot of positives to consider.
